Workplace Ergonomic Assessment: What It Is, Steps & Why Every Employer Should Care
Think of a Workplace Ergonomic Assessment as a health check-up for your office. It’s a thorough evaluation of the whole work environment to spot and fix anything that might be causing discomfort, injuries, or slowing down your team. By optimizing workstations and workflows, you’re setting your employees up for success—and that means a happier, more productive workforce for you!
➡️Increase Staff Productivity: When employees are comfortable, they can focus better and get more done. Simple as that.
➡️Reduce Pain/Injuries leading to Absenteeism: Minimizing strain and injuries means much less time off work and lower healthcare costs. More about work-related health problems and their consequences here.
➡️Meet Regulations: Ensure you’re adhering to health and safety standards, avoiding potential fines. More about this here.
➡️Enhance Employee Morale: Showing you care about their well-being boosts morale and job satisfaction.
➡️Cut costs: Lower expenses on medical claims, workers’ compensation, and replacing injured staff.
Key Elements of a Workplace Ergonomic Assessment
The assessment on each person will take about 25 mins. We’ll go through all their work, explain where we want to get to, showing them pictures of the ideal working set up and assess all the work area in detail (educational element of the assessment).
A complete report on each person will be prepared and emailed in the days to follow as well as a copy of the assessments for your records. We will follow up on any improvements needed and revisit if necessary/requested.
